The Story Behind Miss La Diva

If someone had told me in 2012 that I would one day write more than 443 blog posts, I probably would not have believed them.

When I started Miss La Diva, I was living in Rotterdam and I was still quite young. Back then, I simply loved writing. I wasn't thinking about statistics, followers or making money. I just wanted a place where I could share my thoughts and create something that was truly my own.

That was the beginning of Miss La Diva.

People often ask where the name came from.

The truth is quite simple. I am a "Miss" and I have always had a little bit of a diva side to me. Not in a negative way, but in the sense that I enjoy beautiful things, creativity and expressing myself. The name felt fun, personal and memorable, so I decided to use it.

Over the years, the blog grew.

At first I mainly wrote about lifestyle topics, but as time went on I started writing about whatever inspired me. Sometimes it was fashion, sometimes beauty, and sometimes simply things that caught my attention and made me want to share them.

One of the most exciting things about blogging was discovering opportunities I never expected.

Because of Miss La Diva, I got the chance to work with different companies, fashion brands and magazines. I was invited to review products, share my opinion and be part of projects that I would never have imagined when I first started writing from my room in Rotterdam.

Those experiences taught me that a blog can become much more than just a hobby.

At the same time, there was always something I found a little strange.

I knew people were reading my blog because I could see the statistics growing, but I rarely received comments. Sometimes I wondered what people really thought about my articles. Were they enjoying them? Did they relate to my stories? I never really knew.

Yet people kept reading.

Over the years, Miss La Diva grew to hundreds of articles and tens of thousands of page views. Looking back, I am incredibly grateful for that.

Like many things in life, there were periods when I wrote a lot and periods when I stepped away from blogging. Work, responsibilities and everyday life became more important, and for a while the blog became quiet.

But I never forgot about it.

Miss La Diva has always been a part of me.

Today I am starting a new chapter. The blog is evolving just like I have evolved. I am no longer the young woman who started writing in Rotterdam all those years ago. I have more life experience, new goals and a different perspective on life.

What has not changed is my love for writing.

And that is why I am here again.

Welcome to the next chapter of Miss La Diva.

Love,

Shavida
