If I Ever Became Rich, This Is What I Would Do
Every now and then, people ask what I would do if I suddenly became rich.
The answer surprises a lot of people.
I don't dream about luxury cars.
I don't dream about designer handbags.
And I don't dream about owning the biggest house on the street.
Of course, having money would make life easier.
I would be lying if I said otherwise.
But if I ever became truly wealthy, there is one thing I would want to do more than anything else.
I would help animals.
Not one or two.
As many as possible.
If I had the money, I would buy a large piece of land somewhere with plenty of space. A place where animals could be safe, cared for and loved.
Dogs.
Cats.
Rabbits.
Sheep.
Birds.
It wouldn't matter to me.
Every animal deserves kindness.
People who know me know how much animals mean to me.
Some of my happiest moments have been spent caring for animals, feeding them and simply spending time with them.
Animals don't care what job you have.
They don't care how much money you make.
They don't care what you look like.
They simply respond to how you treat them.
I think there is something beautiful about that.
Sometimes people think success is about money.
For me, success is something different.
Success is going to bed feeling that you made a positive difference, no matter how small.
Success is doing something that matters.
Success is helping where you can.
Of course, I would still travel.
I would still enjoy life.
And I would probably continue blogging.
But if I ever had the opportunity to create a better life for animals, that is where my heart would be.
When I think about my future, I don't dream about becoming famous.
I dream about doing something meaningful.
And if one day I can combine my love for animals, travel and storytelling, I think that would be a pretty amazing life.
Love,
Shavida
