German police arrested a lady with 90 kilograms of Dubai chocolate in luggage.

At Hamburg airport, German military police apprehended a lady attempting to enter the nation with 90 kilos of 'Dubai chocolate'. She intended to evade import duties and, according to customs, anticipated to profit from the transaction.

The woman was apprehended last month, but German military police revealed the information Tuesday.

The 33-year-old lady attempted to import 460 200-gram chocolate bars into the nation. She had packed them with her in three separate luggage. The military police discovered the chocolate in the luggage.

The 'Dubai chocolate', a pistachio-filled chocolate bar, went viral in the Netherlands last summer. When the buzz peaked, chocolaterie De Bonte Koe got 2,000 orders each day.

Millions of TikTok users were drooling when they spotted the Dubai bar.
The woman said she spent 4.60 euros for each chocolate bar. According to Reuters, each bar in Germany costs roughly 25 euros. Customs believes that by not disclosing her luggage, she attempted to avoid paying a few hundred euros in import tax.

The woman was not detained, but she was required to hand over the chocolate bars. She has the option of returning them to their own country or having them destroyed.

In the Netherlands, Dubai chocolate appears to be losing favor. De Bonte Koe, which had received 2,000 orders per day, had received 'only' 8,000 orders by mid-December, chocolatier Amy Klein told RTL Nieuws shortly before Christmas.

The German woman is not the first person to attempt to smuggle the bars into a European country. This has also occurred multiple times in Austria.
