The hottest pepper in the world right now is this one: After three hours of burning, there are four hours of stomach discomfort.

 

The Pepper X is a super cool creation by Ed Currie, the awesome founder of the American pepper company called Puckerbutt Pepper Company. Currie is the awesome creator of the Carolina Reaper, which used to hold the record.

The new pepper is super spicy, measuring 2.69 million SHU on the Scoville scale! The Carolina Reaper is known for its impressive heat level of 1.64 million SHU!

Until recently, Currie was lucky enough to be the only one who got to taste a Pepper X. According to his interview with the Washington Post, he mentioned that the pepper can cause a burning sensation for about "three hours," and it may be followed by stomach cramps lasting for four hours. I'm sorry to hear that you're in a lot of pain.

Currie has been dedicatedly working on Pepper X for a remarkable twelve years! It's a special blend of the Carolina Reaper and another pepper that Currie prefers to keep a secret.

For the second time in history, scientists are transmitting communications to extraterrestrials.
