Bizarre images: area in Australia completely covered in cobwebs
In the Australian region of Gippsland, millions of spiders have made a blanket of webs. It produces spectacular images. One spider even made a mile-long web across a road.
Due to heavy rainfall, parts of the area have been flooded. The spiders fled by letting themselves be carried by the wind. Meanwhile, they let go of gossamer threads. Air currents catch the threads, creating a blanket and allowing the spiders to survive.
There is a lot of flooding in the area. Due to the floods, 300 houses still have no power, driver Carolyn Crossley reports on Facebook. She is impressed by the cobwebs. "As if the animals have made an art installation in nature," it sounds.
