Want to get fitter without realizing it? That's how you do that
We no longer move to our job and we never spend hours strolling through the city looking for that perfect dress. Corona's life takes place at home. Behind the desk, on a chair. That means that, if we don't pay attention, we suddenly move much less than before the pandemic. With these seven tricks, you can still stay fit, without too much effort.
1. The stairs
Most people get tired just saying the word "stairs." Still, climbing stairs may not be such a bad idea. You burn about 10 calories per minute with it. That sounds very little, but in an hour there are already 560! Another advantage: fifteen minutes up and down equals half an hour of walking in terms of calories.
2. Standing up
Sitting ensures that our body is in a "neutral" position. Blood circulation is obstructed, metabolism slows down and many muscles are in rest mode. An hour of exercise per day is sometimes not enough to compensate for this. A good solution is standing up. The "neutral" position is turned off and we burn 1.36 more calories than when we are seated.
3. Take a bath
Take a bath at about 40 degrees. It seems that you burn just as many calories as walking for half an hour. Researchers at Loughborough University found out after research. This literally means that you no longer have to feel guilty after switching a workout for a night in the bath.
4. Walking
Don't feel like working yourself completely during a running session? That doesn't matter, because walking has just as much effect. It is super healthy, it can help you lose weight and it also improves your mental health. Make it fun by going out together with a dog or with another walking buddy, so time flies. Twenty minutes a day already has positive effects on your health.
5. Music
If you plan to do a workout, it is best to put on some music that matches the beat with your movement rhythm. Researchers from England found that athletes who train with music had better stamina than athletes who didn't. In 2012, leading sports psychologist Costas Karageorghis of Brunel University in London wrote that “you can see music as a kind of legal doping”.
6. A cold shower
Because your body temperature suddenly changes from warm to very cold, you burn extra calories. In addition, your blood circulation is also stimulated, which in turn contributes to tighter and healthy skin.
Drink coffee
Caffeine makes you more alert and makes you perform better, of course, we already knew that. According to a study by the University of Illinois, you last longer on average after a cup of coffee. This black gold allows you to perform better without even realizing it.
