New Sesame Street amusement park especially for children with autism

At an amusement park you think of bright lights, screaming children and lots of noise. And that is exactly what some autistic children can not handle at all. That is why in America an amusement park is fully equipped for these children. With specially trained staff and quiet rooms, it should also be a fun outing for autistic children. There are more theme parks that take visitors with autism into account, but Sesame Place in Philadelphia is going a lot further. This park has been rebuilt in such a way that it is the first theme park in the world to call itself an 'Autism center'.

The amusement park is based on the children's series Sesame Street. In America the makers have been involved with the theme of autism for a long time: since a year there is even a character with this disorder. That's why they decided now to make real work of it in their theme parks.

The renewed park in Philadelphia will receive staff who are specially trained in working with children with autism and two quiet spaces. There will also be a guide where parents can see which senses are stimulated at the different attractions. That way they can plan the visit better.
