In four hours, the tourist will spend more than 41,000 euros in fines
You have a traffic fine abroad. But a British tourist in Dubai made it very shabby. He managed to make speed limits for more than 41,000 euros in less than four hours. The 25-year-old Briton, whose name was not announced, rented a luxury sports car last Monday and decided to take a ride through the city. Only a few hours after he had rented it, he drove the Lamborghini Huracan on the Sheikh Zayed road. There he rode no less than 33 times too hard between half past three and half past seven on Tuesday morning. He was flashed 32 times on the Sheikh Zayed street and one time away on the Garn Al Sabka. With that he has packed all the speed cameras on those roads. His top speed was 230 kilometers per hour. The owners of the rental company are left with the issue in their stomach. They have not yet reclaimed the car from the tourist. They fear that if they do, they will be obliged to pay the fines themselves or to hand in the car to the police. But they do not have 41,000 euros, they say to the state newspaper The National. The car is still parked at the hotel of the speed maniac. He refuses to pay the fines for the time being. The Briton gave his passport as collateral when he rented the Lamborghini. The two owners of the rental company fear the 25-year-old man goes to the British embassy and says he has lost his passport. That way he could still try to leave the country.
