The European wild cat returns to the Netherlands again. From the Eifel and Ardennes the wild cat finds its way back to the Limburg hills. Last year, at least 14 wild cats were present in South Limburg (The Netherlands). Reproduction took place at a minimum of two locations That reports the site Naturetoday.com.

The first sporadic observations in South Limburg stem from 2002 and 2006. Eight years later, the number of observations begins to increase. In the Vijlenerbos six different wild cats have been found. In the spring of 2017 two and possibly three litter of kittens were thrown with certainty, of which one litter consisted of at least five kittens.
