In Canada and large parts of the US it is extremely cold. At the waterfalls in Canada the feeling temperature is 67 degrees below zero. In Canada it is the coldest annual change in a hundred years. According to Donald Trump, the cold shows that the warming of the earth is not too bad. He mixes weather and climate. 2017 will also enter the books as an extremely hot year (climate) despite the cold in America now (again)

For the second time in history, scientists are transmitting communications to extraterrestrials.

NASA scientists hope to communicate with extraterrestrials. They've drafted a message that they want to launch into space soon. That message is more than a simple 'hi, how are you?' The goal is to give the aliens as much knowledge about our civilization as possible.
