Hundreds of apps keep an eye on you. They even know when you watch TV

At least 250 apps from the Google Play Store register what you are watching on TV. These are often apps that are meant for children. According to the New York Times, certain software records audio signals through your phone's microphone. The data, which is even collected when the applications are outstanding, is resold to advertisers. This is in conflict with the European right to privacy, but it is only from May 28th when the new data and privacy legislation GDPR is introduced that heavy fines can be distributed. Apps always ask for permission to use your microphone, but many people do not read or agree because otherwise they can not use the app. "We have to deal with this carefully. We are getting more and more devices that collect information in our living room and bedroom, on the street and in the houses of others. It's not about what's legal, it's about what's terrifying, "says Dave Morgan, founder and ceo of Simulmedia, a company that works with marketers on targeted advertising.

For the second time in history, scientists are transmitting communications to extraterrestrials.

NASA scientists hope to communicate with extraterrestrials. They've drafted a message that they want to launch into space soon. That message is more than a simple 'hi, how are you?' The goal is to give the aliens as much knowledge about our civilization as possible. "The message incorporates basic mathematical and physical ideas to construct a universal means of communication, followed by information regarding the biochemical makeup of life on Earth," said Jonathan Jiang, the primary author.
