Chinese ice flower boy goes viral


A photo of a Chinese boy has gone viral on social media because of his 'cool' appearance. With his hair full of ice flowers, red cheeks and a thin coat, the 'flower boy' entered his school in southwestern China this week. To the great amusement of his classmates, but Chinese Internet users are concerned. The boy runs about 4.5 kilometers to school every day. He has been photographed by his teacher. "It was 9 degrees below zero that day", the school director tells Chinese state media "He walked in with frozen hair and pulled a crazy face. His classmates immediately laughed. " The name of the boy has not been announced. He has been nicknamed 'ice flower boy' on Chinese social media. Some Internet users are worried because the school does not have heating at the moment. People offer to donate clothes and money. The ice flower boy is a so-called abandoned child. More than sixty million children live with their grandparents in the Chinese countryside.  The parents of these children live and work in large cities for most of the year.  Children are not allowed to join Chinese law, because migrant workers are not entitled to a permanent residence status in the city.

For the second time in history, scientists are transmitting communications to extraterrestrials.

NASA scientists hope to communicate with extraterrestrials. They've drafted a message that they want to launch into space soon. That message is more than a simple 'hi, how are you?' The goal is to give the aliens as much knowledge about our civilization as possible. "The message incorporates basic mathematical and physical ideas to construct a universal means of communication, followed by information regarding the biochemical makeup of life on Earth," said Jonathan Jiang, the primary author.
