A merciful chicken grower Selby from the United Kingdom could not get over her heart to have her 12,000 laying hens transported to the slaughterhouse. That is why she now sells the animals for 1 pound each. That reports the British newspaper Metro UK. In their own words, the hens can lay eggs for years. Sheena Seals did exactly the same with her laying hens of 2016 last year. To their own surprise, they all found a new home. She hopes the same this year: "It is a shame to remove the chickens, as they are perfectly capable of laying eggs for years. They will save a lot of people a lot of money ", is the sales talk from Seals. Her customers require that her laying hens be replaced every 13 months to ensure the quality of the eggs. The 12,000 hens have less than a week to find a new owner, otherwise they will be transported to the slaughterhouse. They are sold for 1 pound each - a bargain. "The hens have a beautiful character and only need some space to walk around", says Seals.
