Woman who heard God speak to her has brain tumor

A woman who claimed that she could hear God speak to her appears to have a brain tumor. The woman was convinced she had heard the Lord talk to her and started to mutilate herself after hearing the voice. The woman, who remains anonymous, fascinated researchers at the University of Bern in Switzerland. Initially it was thought that she was mentally ill. But when the woman received an MRI scan, it turned out that a tumor was growing in her brain. Professor of psychiatric neurological sciences Sebastian Walther: "The tumor was on a network in the brain that is vital for speech perception, so for voices. That caused her religious sensations. " The tumor was slow to grow in the thalamus of the woman, giving them symptoms similar to those of schizophrenia. Auditory hallucinations, such as hearing voices, are common in psychiatric patients. The academics in Bern, who have been researching schizophrenia for years, are convinced that the case of women will help them better understand that mental illness. They see it as evidence that symptoms of schizophrenia do not occur throughout the brain, but because of certain abnormalities in certain areas of the brain.

For the second time in history, scientists are transmitting communications to extraterrestrials.

NASA scientists hope to communicate with extraterrestrials. They've drafted a message that they want to launch into space soon. That message is more than a simple 'hi, how are you?'
