This train climbs 744 meters in four minutes

The steepest railway line in the world has been opened in Switzerland. The train on the Stoosbahn rises no less than 744 meters over a distance of one and a half kilometers. To prevent passengers from falling off their seats, cylindrical cabs can move on the wagons. That way you are always horizontal. The special funicular railway connects the town of Schwyz with Stoos, which lies on a plateau. the steepest part is the slope of 110 percent: that means that the train rises 1.10 meters on every meter. The trip on the Stoosbahn takes about four minutes. The new connection cost 47 million euros.
