John Nolan, a 70-year-old worker at rest, left his home in London's Haringey district on 17 September. Suddenly the man was on fire on the street. Shocked passers-by informed the emergency services and tried to extinguish the flames. But when the fire brigade arrived, the man was still on fire. The victim was transferred by helicopter to a specialized hospital, but all help came too late. The man died of severe burns. The police are now investigating the bizarre death, but for the time being they do not find a logical explanation for the incident. The investigators found no signs of fire accelerators on the body. It continues to guess at the cause, because also testimonies from passers-by did not yield anything. "John Nolan was loved in the neighborhood and nothing indicates that he was living in disagreement with someone", the police say. "The testimonies also show that no one accompanied the man at the time of the incident." The police are still looking for witnesses who can give more information about the death of the man.
