The American astronaut Bruce McCandless II passed away on Thursday at the age of eighty. McCandless was the first man in 1984 who floated completely freely through space without wiring. The American space agency NASA announces the death of McCandless Friday. McCandless was one of the members of the Space Shuttle mission where the special Manned Maneuvering Unit (MMU) was tested. That is kind of "flying chair" which can be flown through the space. The test provided spectacular images of an astronaut who, by sight, floated all by himself.
