In Back to the Future II, the 1989 classic, scientist Doc Brown and his friend Marty McFly whiz through the time and space to Wednesday, October 21, 2015. The film by director Robert Zemeckis made a number of miraculous predictions, which we are still waiting for, but a number of things have already come true.
Fingerprint scanners
In the film, a fingerprint is paid for the taxi. Identification with your fingerprint is now also on the latest iPhones and is for example used in the American passport control.
Cars that run on garbage
You can not just flip your garbage in the fuel tank of your car, as happens in the film, there exists biofuel made from compost. In the British Bristol a bus runs completely on garbage.
The hoverboard
No more on the bike from A to B, but nice on the hoverboard. In the film no problem, in real life the hoverboard is still in its infancy. You now have the Hendo II. With the help of electromagnets it should then be possible to move floating above the ground.
Tablets
Marty signs a petition on a tablet computer to save the Hill Valley clock tower. The movie therefore predicted the rise of the iPad.
Smartglasses
Even Google Glass already existed in the film
Some things have not come out yet. So we are still waiting for the flying car, and the self-tying shoelaces.
