Thor the Bengal gets a manager


The Belgian Thor the Bengal is a huge hit on Instagram. With more than 150,000 followers on Instagram and almost 18,000 Facebook his owner Rani Cucicov from the Flemish Meerbeek decided to hire a professional. And Rani did not choose the least: the student is now working with the PR agency behind Astrid Bryan (is a Belgian television personality, model, singer and musician)  to earn some money to her pet. 

,, It all started with an account for family and friends, I put Thor photos for fun online, 'says Rani, which Thor The Bengal introduced on social media. The animal is popular because of its special coat with a bold leopard motif. The Bengal cat is a crossbreed between a wild Asian Leopard Cat and a normal house cat. ,, When the US site Bored Panda picked our pet, Thor was a real viral hit. Now I put a photo online every day. '' 

There are quite a few companies who want to hire him to advertise theire product. Therefore the  21-year-old law student decided to work with professionals  to earn some money on her cat. ,, Because I have absolutely no experience in this branch, I went looking for a company that could take over. 

I came out at The Kube in Antwerp Belgium. They already represent several dozen "digital influencers - people who represent certain brands on social media and getting paid for it. When I asked if they wanted to do the same for my cat, they first thought I was making a joke. But soon they saw the potential. ''  

And now Thor sits at the same management agency as Astrid 'Bryan' Coppens. This month he is doing his first professional shoot already. ,,I can not yet say anything about it '' said Inge Olesen of The Kube. ,,What is certain is that this yearThor is going to be a ambassador for a sensitization campaign. But possibly there also will follow other jobs. '' Will it make money? ,, We have to see how Thor will be rewarded, it is for us all still very new, '' said Olesen. ,, But a digital influencer may currently rely in Belgium at 250 to 500 euros on each post on social media. ''

For the second time in history, scientists are transmitting communications to extraterrestrials.
