The unlikely journey of dollar bill from a Belgian woman

Where does our money go? A Belgian woman has given a very literal answer. Her personalized American dollar bill put an impressive journey. After months on the road, more than a thousand kilometers further on, it ended up in the hands of her friend. The Belgian Denise Perri spent her last summer holiday in the American city of Atlantic City, where she stayed with her friend Chelsea. For fun the student communication sciences wrote when her name on a dollar bill: "I thought how wonderful it would be for a stripper to see the image of President George Washington,and to have my name next to it," she said on Facebook. 

While on vacation Denise traveled with Chelsea further to Washington, New York and Philadelphia and gave the dollar off. In which city she just spent the dollar, she does not remembers. She returned to Belgium and forgot the existence of the note, until yesterday on Facebook she received a message from Chelsea, who was with friends on holiday in the Bahamas. They had been handed a dollar a certain Denise that happen to came from Belgium and Chelsea sent her a picture. 

Denise immediately saw that it was her handwriting, her dollar traveled in a few months from the mainland to the Bahamas, to arrive finally at the hands of Chelsea. "In shock we facetime and we realized that this is the biggest coincidence in the world," says Denise.

 Because they want to know what the journey will continue,  they decided to put the hashtag #denisesdollar, asking for pictures or tweets posting of the note and the place where it is located. So far they have not heard anything about it, says Denise, but the action was just launched yesterday. They are already looking forward to know where their money will play the coming months.

This is fun, I'm going to do this. I will hashtag on my 5 euros bill and then see where that will be in Europe. Are you with me?

For the second time in history, scientists are transmitting communications to extraterrestrials.

NASA scientists hope to communicate with extraterrestrials. They've drafted a message that they want to launch into space soon. That message is more than a simple 'hi, how are you?' The goal is to give the aliens as much knowledge about our civilization as possible. "The message incorporates basic mathematical and physical ideas to construct a universal means of communication, followed by information regarding the biochemical makeup of life on Earth," said Jonathan Jiang, the primary author.
