Pokemon Go players walked 200,000 times around the world
Players of Pokemon Go have all together made a lot of kilometers. The millions of players of the smartphone game walked added together 8.7 billion kilometers, according to data from developer Niantic. That is more than 200,000 times around the world.
The total distance is even larger than the distance from the Earth to dwarf planet Pluto, the developer wrote its on the website. Which amounts to only 7.5 billion kilometers. According to Niantic would do more than a thousand years on a commercial airliner to achieve the same kilometers.
Pokemon Go came on July 6 off. This summer there was a worldwide rage around the game in which players hunt the streets for Pokémon. That caused some places nuisance, as in beach resort Kijkduin in The Hague ( The Netherlands). There were complaints about noise and urinating by Pokémon hunters. The game now seems on its peak.
