Love a old beer
A scientist has tested beer brewed more than 120 years ago and was found on the bottom of the ocean. The beer was "drinkable", but bitter, "and not very flavorful," says the researcher.
The beer, brewed between 1872 and 1890 in the Canadian Alexander Keith Brewery, according to AFP the beer was found in November by divers at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean.
By studying the design of the bottle and the inscriptions, scientists were able to determine that the beer was brewed shortly after the founding of Canada, in 1867.
The tests showed that the beer contained alcohol and was not toxic. "But it was not tasty. Beer is not getting any better as the years pass, especially on the bottom of the ocean", said researcher Andrew MacIntosh from Dalhousie University in Halifax.
The beer had according to MacIntosh a bitter and salty flavor, with a touch of mint.
