Dutch men are happy
The Dutch man is more happily than the Dutch woman. 69 percent of men say (almost) always happy to be compared with 64 percent of women.
Men also feel calmer, while women find life more meaningful. The feeling of calm is the biggest difference between the sexes; 72 percent of men feel (almost) always calm, compared with nearly 61 percent of women. They experience more negative emotions when they are nervous or feel gloomy.
Men and women are equally often be satisfied with life. More than 85 percent of the Dutch in 2014 was generally satisfied with life. Only 3 percent are dissatisfied. This has been fairly stable since 1997. Women (91 percent) the things they do are often more meaningful than men (87 percent).
Dutch are particularly satisfied with their relationship (94 percent), leisure (75 percent) and financial situation (70 percent). Over weight is 65 percent of the Dutch satisfied.
In Drenthe, Friesland and Zeeland people are most satisfied with their lives. 87 percent of the inhabitants of these provinces said to be happy with his life. In Flevoland residents the least satisfied (81 percent).
