Tell something about yourself who you are, bio?


My name is  Jeroen Moerdijk a portrait & fashion photographer.
I started working as a photographer in 2004 with a photo studio in a small Dutch town called Goes.
At the moment I’m based in Rotterdam from where I travel through the Netherlands for my work.


Can you tell me about your project you're working on?

Yes please! I’m really excited about my recent project called Manifest (a photobook with an opinion).


My search for people with a strong point of view, statement,  principal or view of life. An opinion that means the world to them and is worth fighting for. 
People that don't just say empty words but really dare to expose themselves for what they want to express. I found a large diversity of people from 
driving instructors to documentary makers, rappers, actors, housewives, journalists, models and yoga teachers and made captivating black and white portraits of them. 
In words and images the book expresses what their MANIFEST is !


What is the best thing you have ever photographed?

People! That’s why I love portraits so much!  The photobook gave me contact with so many great people, which I’m truly grateful for!


What would you definitely still want to shoot again?

More fashion and portraits 
If you are allowed to photograph a celebrity, who would it be and why?
I’ve got quite a few I would love to photograph….
Unique faces and personalities are my passion. Lana del Rey would be great,  and Christopher Walken


 Many people underestimate the photography, in reality it is as easy as people think?


I don’t know if photography itself is being underestimated , but I do think the power of a good photograph is underestimated a lot of times.

African Fashion Week Amsterdam 2015

Last year,  last weekend of August, a new event  started  in the Netherlands: Africa Fashion Week Amsterdam. For three days the Amsterdam World Fashion Centre was dedicated to African culture and fashion. This year's Africa Fashion Week Amsterdam is for the second time, from 28 to 30 of August, this time in the Royal Tropical Institute at the Mauritskade. Three days of African designers the opportunity to show their latest collection of our renowned international audience coming from different continents. The three days this year a different theme so that we diverse talent the opportunity to showcase the latest designs. The first day provides platform for emerging talent. For the second time in history, scientists are transmitting communications to extraterrestrials.

NASA scientists hope to communicate with extraterrestrials. They've drafted a message that they want to launch into space soon. That message is more than a simple 'hi, how are you?' The goal is to give the aliens as much knowledge about our civilization as possible. "The message incorporates basic mathematical and physical ideas to construct a universal means of communication, followed by information regarding the biochemical makeup of life on Earth," said Jonathan Jiang, the primary author.
