Rapper Kanye West will be honored Sunday at the MTV Video Music Awards.



Kanye West will receive an award for lifetime achievement at the MTV Video Music Awards. The ceremony, which recognizes the best music videos, will be held Sunday in Los Angeles.

The rapper, 38, offers its fans "innovative videos and legendary performance" seeking "to go further to create something new in each clip" says MTV in a statement on Tuesday on its website.

By winning the honorary prize "Michael Jackson Video Vanguard", Kanye West joins a prestigious list of artists such as Madonna, Beyoncé, Guns N 'Roses or the Beastie Boys.
